FedEx (FDX) has had a great run since its last earnings report nearly three months ago. It’s getting no love today, however.
Getty ImagesThe express-delivery company has gained 28% during the past three months, trumping the 18% return fromUnited Parcel Service(UPS), the 4.6% gain in J.B. Hunt Transport Services (JBHT) and the 0.2% rise in Expeditors International of Washington(EXPD).
And there’s no reason FedEX can’t keep on keeping on, says Citigroup’sChristian Wetherbee andSeth Lowry. They write:
[We]believe further upside remains, as the current investor base appears to be playing for a meaningful improvement in profitability, led by cost efforts underway at the company Express segment. Sentiment is firming around FedEx ability to produce profit improvement and coupled with accretion from the buyback and help from improving volumes, $10 of earnings power should enter the discussion for F15. Using its historical multiple of ~17x, we believe the upside case for FedEx shares is $170. As such, we areincreasing our target to $170 and reiterate our Buy.

Despite a lukewarm economy and jobs situation, the staffing industry along with small cap staffing stocks like On Assignment, Inc (NYSE: ASGN), Kforce Inc (NASDAQ: KFRC) and up and coming Staffing 360 Solutions Inc (OTCBB: STAF) have actually put in pretty decent performances since the end of the financial crisis. I should mention that globally, staffing companies generate about $280 billion in annual revenue and thereare approximately 70,000 private employment services agencies around the world with the top 10 companies accounting for about a third of total industry sales while in the USA there are an estimated 15,000 staffing companies generating less than $20 million in revenues. Overall, Europe is the largest regional staffing services market with 40% of annual revenue, followed by the United States.

Advisors' Opinion:- [By Sean Williams]
If you think California was just an oddball example, you may want to think again. When the nation's biggest insurers were asked how many state exchanges they'd enter, UnitedHealth guided to a minimum of 10, but no more than 25. WellPoint (NYSE: WLP ) , the company behind Blue Cross Blue Shield, is only entering the 14 states where it already currently operates. It's the same story for Aetna, which plans to enter just 14 states.

Understanding Aflac
Aflac has done an excellent job of carving out a lucrative niche for itself in the U.S. insurance industry, with its focus on supplemental insurance that provides additional coverage beyond what traditional carriers provide. For instance, major health insurers UnitedHealth (NYSE: UNH ) and WellPoint (NYSE: WLP ) offer broad-based insurance coverage that forces them to take on a huge amount of risk and almost eliminates their ability to customize policies to respond to changes in demand for certain services. That reduces their opportunity to shift their business focus to capitalize on changing trends. By contrast, Aflac can target more lucrative niche offerings, such as coverage for cancer and other specified diseases, accident coverage, and short-term disability policies. Moreover, with such finely carved-out coverage, it's easier for Aflac to adjust rates to reflect specific loss experience. - [By Sean Williams]
One big benefit and a potentially huge problem
There is a chance this move could have benefits to the insurance sector and health-benefit providers like WellPoint (NYSE: WLP ) in that it gives businesses an extra year to figure out how to operate with a part-time labor force and exempt themselves from the penalties that could be associated with needing to offer health insurance and subsidizing their employees. If medium-to-large businesses choose to reduce hours, it could cause employees in increasing number to seek out insurance plans on the state-run exchanges, ultimately validating the effectiveness of Obamacare and making WellPoint -- which purchased AMERIGROUP last year to expand its individual market Medicaid-based member group -- look like a genius.

Printing and the various forms of marketing communications that need to be printed (like business cards and stationary) are fundamental to the needs of every business, meaning the recent share surge of small cap Standard Register Co (NYSE: SR) after it announced an acquisition along with its long-term performance against better known peers like RR Donnelley & Sons Co (NASDAQ: RRD) and VistaPrint Limited (NASDAQ: VPRT) is worth taking a closer look at. After all, Standard Register is up 363.2% since the start of the year verses a return of 113.4% for RR Donnelley & Sons Co and75.9% for VistaPrint Limited.

Vistaprint (VPRT) provides online customized marketing products and services. This stock closed up 5.2% to $55.01 in Friday's trading session.
Friday's Volume: 1.16 million
Three-Month Average Volume: 250,767
Volume % Change: 396%Shares of VPRT jumped higher on Friday after the company reported a profit topping Wall Street expectations and beat the revenue expectation.
From a technical perspective, VPRT broke out here above some near-term overhead resistance at $53.16 with heavy upside volume. This stock has been uptrending strong for the last four months, with shares moving higher from its low of $36.51 to its intraday high on Friday of $55.25. During that uptrend, shares of VPRT have been consistently making higher lows and higher highs, which is bullish technical price action. That move has now pushed shares of VRPT within range of triggering a major breakout trade. That trade will hit if VRPT manages to take out $55.25 to its three-year high at $56.25.
Traders should now look for long-biased trades in VPRT as long as it's trending above $53.16 or above $52 and then once it sustains a move or close above those breakout levels with volume that hits near or above 250,767 shares. If that breakout hits soon, then VRPT will set up to enter new 52-week- and three-year-high territory, which is bullish technical price action. Some possible upside targets off that breakout are $60 to $65.
